RECOMMENDATIONS FOR UPRIGHT SEATING. RaceQuip now offers a conversion kit for those who are looking to upgrade their RaceQuip 5 point harness to a 6 point set. Designed for use with all RaceQuip latch & link harness sets, this conversion uses a "moustache bar" to separate and move the crotch straps outward. The kit includes hardware (no bolts) to allow the belts to be mounted as a, 7-Point Seat Belts. A 7-Point belt system is simply the use of the 5 point belt in conjunction with the 6 point belts. This harness kit is specifically designed for the Gen V, but I believe it's mostly the same as Gen III/IV. If anyone's done this, I would greatly appreciate your help. I figured out how to install the shoulder belts, so that's done. I read a lot of warnings against using a 6 point harness unless your seat bottom has holes for the submarine straps. So it sounds like a 6 point is the best solution for me, even though changing out the stock Sabelt seats is not an option. Sure, not as good as using a 6 Mounting a 5-Point Harness.
